The "Village of Brush" Museum/Workshop in Kumano Town



80% of the 180 year-old Japnese delicacy of "Kumano Brushes" are produced right in this living museum.

This village/museum is a collective effort by the citizens and artisans of Kumano to develop and sustain the tradition of Brush Making.



Information



Depending on the time of year, you may be able to witness master brush-making artisans create brushes or engage in some special events we offer.

We accept group tours and bookings of our services for foreigners as well. Create your own personalized brush or Japanese-style tapestry in our hands-on workshops.
